Race 3 of the Spenborough Grand Prix was the GP regular course of the Helen Winsor 10K as it returned to the GP listing. A summers evening but not one without the British summer weather as blustery winds swept through the entire evening.
But it was not going to stop our Red and Gold runners from completing this race.
Neil Barker was the first runner around the course finishing 3rd within his category and scoring the highest points for his GP points total. Edward Revell was the next Spen athlete across the finish line and just outside of a season’s best time but his efforts would see him to be the winner of his age category. Gerrard Skippins claimed a 10th place finish in his age category, while Ian Wilson was just one place behind and claimed the 11th place in their age category and drew level on points at the top of the GP Scoring. Angela Hall was the 1st around in her age category and not only that as her efforts saw her finish as the third female runner to claim one of the prizes!
Well Done to all as the British weather chooses the perfect time to make a run more challenging. Grand Prix Race 4 is the Ilkley Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 10th July.
