The strong results continue for the YADAL team as they go on the hunt for promotion as fixture three took place at Cleethorpes

The third fixture of the Yorkshire and District athletics league saw the team travel across to Cleethorpes again but thankfully with some nicer conditions than last time. With two successful fixtures already under our belt, we looked to continue with the success.

And it certainly started well as Ethan Williams threw a new Personal Best (PB) distance in the Under 17 Men’s Discus to finish in first place, later going on to throw another PB in the Shot Putt claiming another victory and rounded off with a final victory in the High Jump. Seb Bartocha jumped into second place in the Long Jump with a new PB distance, another second place came in the Shot Putt with a second best distance of the season and a final second place came in the 100m.

Robert Harness also claimed a new PB distance in the Long Jump, a second PB came on the 800m as he finished in second as well as a second best distance of the season in the Discus to finish in fourth. William McIntosh was back in the swing of things as he ran a new PB in the 400m to finish in third and ran his second fastest time of the season in the 100m.

Joe Trevett showed his speed again as he finished second place in the 200m. Ben Whitaker further increased the teams points total as he ran his second quickest time of the season over the 400m and also sprinted in the 200m.

The Under 17 Women’s team was strengthen for this fixture as Abi Lane joined the team again and sprinted to a new PB time in the 200m to claim the victory, it was then another PB in the 100m for a third place finish and topped off with a Season’s Best (SB) jump in the High Jump to finish second. Milana Bulgin also joined back with the team again and leapt to victory in the High Jump, it was then a SB jump in the Long Jump to finish in second place and another SB effort in the 100m sprint this time to finish in fourth. Olivia Myers continued her impressive form in the league as she claimed victory in the Shot Putt with a PB throw, it was another PB and victory in the Discus and topped off by a victory in the Long Jump.

Moving onto the Under 15 Boys where Harry Rogerson claimed victory in the 80m Hurdles and finished in a new Personal Best time, before going on to a first competition attempt in the 300m to finish in fourth and rounding his day off with a victory in the Discus with yet another PB. Jack Worsnup complimented Harry in the 80m Hurdles as he finished in second place with a new PB time and another PB came in the 1,500m as he finished in third place.

Jake Carrington had his first competition attempt at the 200m and shone as he sprinted his way into a first place finish. Reece Bridgeman sprinted his way to a new PB time in the 100m as he finished in second place and followed that up with a third place finish in the Long Jump.

Joel Cousins ran his second quickest time of the season over the 200m as he finished in second place and went on to compliment this with a third place finish and new PB distance in the Shot Putt. Poppy Watts joined Rosie in the Hurdles and also earnt a new PB time and finished in second place before also going straight to the Long Jump and finishing in first with her second best jump of the season and finished her day with a second place finish in the Discus on first competition attempt.

Millie Rhodes continued her strong season with a victory in the 200m before going on to claim another victory in the 300m and finishing with a victory and new PB distance in the Discus. Evie Cook sprinted too quick for her shoes in the100m claiming a new PB to finish in second and in need of a new pair of spikes before going onto a third place finish in the Shot Putt on first competition attempt.
