

The second fixture of the Yorkshire & District Athletics League saw the team travel across to Cleethorpes. After the good start at the first fixture we looked to continue the form in this fixture.
The Under 13’s helped get the team of to a fantastic start as Eva Armitage ran a Season’s Best time to win the girls 800m race, a second best time of the season saw a second place in the 75m and another second place came in the 150m. Hannah Whitaker continued her fine form with a victory in the 150m, an equal PB time to claim another victory in the 75m and it was three for three as a third victory came in the Long Jump. Maria Edwards improved her 800m time as she ran a new Personal Best time (PB) to finish in second, it was a second place in the Long Jump in her second best distance of the season before finishing her day of nicely with a victory in the Shot Putt. For the Boys team, Noah Byrne ran an excellent race in the 1,500m to finish first place with a brand new PB time.
In the Under 15 Boys, Jack Worsnup shone as he finished first in the 3,000m and set a new league record, a PB followed in the 300m with a fourth place finish and a second place finish rounded off his day in the 80m Hurdle on first competition attempt. Joel Cousins showed his speed as he finished in first in the 200m with a PB time as well as a second place finish in the 100m in a second best time of the season.
George Thompson was out to try new events as a first competition try at the 300m saw him earn a second place finish, as well as another second place finish in the Hammer on first competition attempt. Reece Bridgeman only further strengthened the team with a second place finish in the 200m with a second best time of the season before leaping to the win in the Long Jump.
Harry Rogerson showed his strength with a win in the Javelin in a PB distance, another victory came in the Hammer in a first competition attempt, finished off with a victory in the 80m Hurdles on first competition attempt. Arjurn Pahal returned from injury and looked as if he had never been away as he threw a PB distance in the Javelin to finish in second place.
Jake Carrington joined the team for the first time and set impressive PB’s as he finished first in the 100m and jumped his way into second place in the Long Jump.
The Under 15 girls saw another strong display by Millie Rhodes as she finished first place in the 100m. It was a third place finish in the 100m for Ada Tillotson as she ran a PB time before a fourth place finish in the Javelin on first competition attempt.
Rosie Hildon flew over the hurdles as she finished in first place in a PB time, another victory added onto the tally as she won the 200m in another PB time and claimed yet another first place and PB distance in the Long Jump. Abi Hildon was more set with the longer distance as she finished in second in the 3,000m on first competition attempt before finishing with a third place finish in the Javelin.
In the Under 17 Mens, Seb Bartocha launched the Javelin to a first place finish in a PB distance, it was another PB in the 400m as he finished second and another second came from a strong run in the 100m. Joe Trevett claimed the sprint double as he finished first in the 100m and first in the 200m as well. Ethan Williams jumped his way into a first place finish in the Long Jump, another victory came in the Hammer with a second best distance of the season and a second best distance of the year and second place finish in the Javelin. Ben Whitaker rounded off the team with a victory and first competition attempt at the 100m Hurdles, a second place and second best distance of the season in the Long Jump and finished with another second place finish and second best time of the season in the 800m.
Olivia Myers was the sole U17 Woman but didn’t let that impact her results as she jumper her way to a victory in the Long Jump, another victory came in the 80m Hurdles in a second fastest time of the season and finished the day with a third victory in the Hammer with a second best distance of the season.
We had three relays on the day, the under 15 boys 4x100m team of Thompson, Carrington, Bridgeman and Rogerson stormed the baton round in first place. The 4x300m team of Thompson, Carrington, Worsnup and Cousins were not going to be outdone and finished in first place. The third relay of the day was the U17 Men’s 4x100m team of Bartocha, Trevett, Williams and Whitaker also had a well earnt first place finish.
