Joe Percy 10K

On a very wet evening around 500 runners took to the roads of Farnley Tyas for the invitation-only 10k race. However, the inclement weather proved no match for 24 Spen athletes who battled the two-lap course and were rewarded with very respectable times. Our first athlete back was Henry Carter, followed by Kevin Ogden to be our second runner home. New Spen member Paul Watson demonstrated his ability finishing in 40:46 on an undulating course! The first Spen lady back was Laura Thornton in 44:44, chased home by Sara Wallace in 47:16. In fact, the Spen women outnumbered the men, many of whom finished with PBs for the course. A big well done to all who took part, because everyone gave it their all in such dreadful conditions.
