Joe Wins Liversedge Half Marathon

26 Spen seniors raced round the hilly course of Liversedge, Hartshead and Clifton, and for once the weather was kind with a cold day and bright blue skies. This is a firm favourite amongst the Club. First home and winning the race Joe Sagar with a very impressive time of 1:10.49, who took the lead from the start and kept it by a long way. Second back for Spen in his new club colours was Martin Peck in great time of 1:25.57. Following along was a chasing pack of Scott Alder, Kevin Ogden, Martin Hall, and Edward Revell with finishing times from 1:27.11 to 1:28.51. Craig Kellett also in his new club colours had a good run.
The first female for Spen was Hazel Pike in 1:54.23 followed by Jackie Carter who bettered her time of 19yrs ago (but not a PB) with 1:59.02. For the majority of the ladies it was a first Liversedge Half and even any half marathon.
