Spenborough & District AC had the pleasure of hosting a visit from our local MP (for the Batley & Spen constituency) and Chair of All Party Parliamentary Group for Running, Kim Leadbeater, and our local Club Support Manager from England Athletics, Heidi Bradley.

Kim joined Frank as a volunteer assistant coach for the Thursday Spenites session and was enthusiastic about the amount of fun the kids were having as part of the session on a cold, chilly evening in January. She was really proud to offer her support to our local athletics club.

Chair, Jake and Membership Secretary, Kevin discussed the post-covid recovery of the club with England Athletics, in particular the need to get more volunteer coaches involved to help expand the membership. England Athletics are supporting Spenborough & District AC through the Regional Club and Coaching Support Programme and working on an action plan to improve coaching an athlete development at the club.
