Spenborough’s Bayleigh Lawton competed in the England Athletics Age Group Indoor Championships in the 400 metres across the 12th and 13th Feb.

Bayleigh placed 4th place in his heat in a personal best time of 49.44, before further knocking off a tenth of a second off his PB time to see him into the final finishing second in his semi-final in 49.34.

Bayleigh then showed his strength in the final in an incredible run to finish second place and claim himself a silver medal whilst yet again beating his PB time, finishing in 48.50! Bayleigh has now qualified for the British Champs where we will be cheering him along.
