Success at Dewsbury 10K

Success at Dewsbury 10K

Kevin Aspindle10 Feb 2022 - 15:30

14 athletes braved the beautiful Yorkshire weather of rain and heavy winds to run the Dewsbury 10K

Joe Sagar ran a very impressive race to claim another first place finish with a personal best time. Tom Dart was next to finish in 19th very close to a personal best time of his own. Paul Watson was the third Spen runner home and ended up with a personal best time for himself. Edward Revell who currently holds the clubs Spen 20 trophy finished as the 4th Spen runner with Ian Ogden just on his heels in a time improving on his 2020 10k time. Dan Dalton was the 6th back in a very aesthetically pleasing time, while next back was our first female Angela Hall who ran a course PB time. Jenni Muston wasn’t far behind as the second Spen female and 8th Spen runner back. Richard Lee and Mark Smith were next to finish as the 9th and 10th Spen runners respectively. Emma Maguire was next to cross the finishing line with Charlotte Thornton not far off her heels. Another aesthetically pleasing finishing time went to David Buckley finishing exactly on a minute mark and great effort by Susan Jackson saw her finish as the 5th Spen lady.

Well done to all the runners who took part in what can only be classed as challenging conditions with a bad head wind on the outbound perhaps 2023 will have a bit nicer weather.
