
The Northern Senior Indoor Champs took place at Sheffield over the 9th & 10th January to kick off the 2026 Championships. Whilst the snow and ice postponed the Yorkshire County Cross Country Championships to the week after.
We have two Northern Indoor Champions as Glenn Aspindle Vaulted to first place with 4.20m in the Seniors Pole Vault at the start of the day.
Millie Rhodes cruised into the Under 17 Girls 300m final as the fastest qualifier in the heats and continued the form to claim victory in the final for the gold medal.
Molly Waring ran a Personal Best in the Senior 60m Hurdles finishing 7th in the final. It was also an 8th place finish in the heats for Molly in the 400m.
Isabel White took on the shorter sprints with a SB run in the Senior 200m finishing 4th in her heat as well as a 7th in her 60m heat.
The re-arranged Yorkshire Cross Country Championships took place on the 17th January at Lightwater Valley.
5 Spenborough Athletes competed across the Under 15 Girls and Under 17 Men Categories.
In the Under 15 Girls Category, Ann Kamau stormed to a fourth place finish, Lily Hodgson competed for the first time and an impressive run earnt herself a 22nd place finish, whilst Abi Hildon returned after running the course last year, with yet another strong run this year finishing in 36th within the age category.
In the Under 17 Men category, Stanley Field and Jack Worsnup both competed in the Championships for the first time, both having impressive runs around the course with Stanley finishing in 12th place and Jack in 19th place.
