Starting in the men’s sprints Dominic Lamb stormed the 100 metres in a joint personal best time to claim first place, unfortunately an injury ruled him out of any further events. Tom Dart stood up and ran the B string 100 metres for the first time as well as a first try at the 3,000 metre steeplechase on top of a strong run in the 1,500 metres. After already running the Leeds 10K, Joe Sagar had a first try at the 200 metres to go straight to the 5K and finishing ten minutes later with the 4x100 metre relay with a solid run in all the events. Also in the 200 metres Daniel Smith ran a personal best time as well as a strong run in the 400 metres topped off with a personal best in the 800 metres. Kevin Ogden had an inspiring run in the 400 metres as well as a motivated run in the 5K in the tough conditions. Steve Hunt scored himself a personal best time in the 3,000 metre steeplechase as well as stepping up to fill in a leg of the relay at last minute. In the 400 metre hurdles, Jason Newell ran a seasons best to then try the daunting 110 metre hurdles for the first time. Also in the 110 metre hurdles Glenn Aspindle ran a personal best to finish second.

In the women’s track Amanda Pearson really played her part for the team by running the 100 metres, 400 metres, 800 metres and 1,500 metres as well as one leg of the 4x400 metre relay. Molly Waring ran an impressive run in the 200 metres to claim second as well as equalling her personal best with a winning run in the 400 metre hurdles. Holly Martin unexpectedly ran a personal best time in the 200 metres while running with an injury to claim a win in the B string. Natasha Geere ran two striking races in the 1,500 metres and the 3,000 metres just missing out on personal best times.

In the men’s field Glenn Aspindle was very busy with a win in the pole vault, two fourth places in the high jump and triple jump, scoring high points in the long jump topped off with a second place in the javelin. Jason Newell gained a win in the pole vault and a seasons best in the triple jump. Darren Thomas made his stance in the field with four second places in the hammer, shot, discus and javelin to score an impressive amounts of points for the team. Also in the throws Jake Darby threw his way to second in the hammer, followed up by two thirds in the shot and discus with a personal best in the discus as well as a personal best in long jump.

Onto the women’s field where we dominated the throws, Beth Thomas easily won the hammer, the B string discus and the B string shot. Charlotte Bell continued the form with a win in the B string hammer and a second in the discus finished off by Fiona Thomas won the shot put with a notable throw. In the jumps Emma Rawnsley jumped one cm less than her season’s best in the long jump but went onto two seasons best in the high jump and triple jump scoring great points for the team. Emma was accompanied by Rosa McKie jumped a seasons best in the triple jump also equaling her high jump seasons best as well as a great jump in the long jump just missing a seasons best.

In the relays the women’s 4x100 metres finished with a powerful last leg by Molly to help claim third place, the team consisted of McKie, Martin, Rawsnley and Waring.
The 4x400 metres team of Rawnsley, Martin Geere and Pearson successfully got the baton round.
The men’s makeshift 4x100 metre relay team of Newell, Sagar, Hunt and Darby also successfully got the baton round.
The 4x400 metres race was a good race for Bolland, Dart, Smith and Aspindle who successfully got the baton round.
