Spenborough's senior men performed very well to finish 41st of the 116 teams in the Northern 6 x 4 miles road relays held at Warrington on Saturday 20 September. There was a great run from Leeds University medical student Josh Woodcock-Shaw who gained 23 places on the second leg to bring Spenborough up to 26th place. Competition was fierce for a top 25 position that would enable teams to enter the National Relays and Simon Bolland and Paul Davis kept the team in a good position but other teams proved too strong in the end. Kevin Ogden gave the team a solid start and Oliver Carter and Ian Ogden ran well to keep the team in a good position. To show the standard of the racing and the performance from Spen we beat local teams Bingley, Barnsley and Keighley and finished very near to Wakefield and York. We were 8th Yorkshire 'A' team to finish.

Spen team members: Kevin Ogden, Josh Woodcock-Shaw, Simon Bolland, Paul Davis, Oliver Carter and Ian Ogden.
