Spenborough's Joe Sagar was a convincing winner of the Spenborough Open Cross Country senior men's race on Saturday, 20th January 2018, beating last year's winner Tom Dart (pictured) with Michael Gaughan from Halifax Harriers third. In the senior women's race Ellie Kitchen from Bingley was the winner with Hazel Pike leading the Spen runners home in fourth place. Molly Waring was the winner of the under seventeen was women's race. Last year's under fifteen winner, Olivia Reah from Spenborough finished fifth this year and was followed in by Mia Butler who placed sixth. In the under thirteen boy's race Spenborough's Matthew Dalton was a clear winner ahead of fellow Spen runner James Bell. The under eleven boy's race saw Ben Whittaker as the leading Spen runner in sixth place while Isobel Toher was the leading Spen runner in the under eleven girl's race placing second.
